What a two year old wants to know

As adults we already know what we wanted. We know how to plan, dream, set goals and achieve these plans. When we are looking for something, we know where to go and ask for help. We are independent and self-sufficient in everything. When the government does not cover the needs we wanted, we know how to protest.

When our employer does not comply with the benefits that correspond to us, we know how to impose. And when our spouses fail us, we know why because we know what we wanted and we expect it to happen. But we are adults and our minds are already ripe to know about these things. We have vast experiences and years of life to know what we wanted and how to get it. But when we see the questioning look and the not-so-clear language of our little boy, our two-year-old, we think we already know what he wanted. But what does a two-year-old know? Or what did a two-year-old want to know?

He wanted to know if you love him.

A child does not know what love really means. He only knows about hugs and hugs. He only knows that you feed him and pray with him at bedtime. He only knows that you listen to his story. He only knows that you take him to malls and parks and play with him. In plain language, he sees and feels your love but he doesn’t know it until he is old enough to understand. And when you don’t provide him with these simple things in life, he will grow up wanting to know what love really means. He will grow up confused and unaware of the feeling of being loved. When a child sincerely asks you if you love him, he feels that you do not love him. But when he doesn’t care about the meaning of love and it comes out of his mouth like a matter of course, it means you’ve given a child the love he needed so badly. Now, does your son of his want to know if you love him? If he does, maybe you need to start showing him now.

He wanted to know if his mommy and daddy are fighting.

It’s hard to hide our anger and disappointment with our spouses from our children. They picked him up easily and his tantrums evaporate, adding to the tension in our household. A child like any person wants to live in a home where there is harmony and peace. Because when there is bitterness, it is like a contagious disease that infects the life character of your family member. A boy wanted to know if his mom and dad are fighting because he wants to justify the scene of bitterness and coldness that surrounds him. And it’s okay to explain and inform your child of the truth in the simplest way he can relate. When he is calm and on terms with his spouse again, he will understand later that life is just like that.

What we feed into the mind of our son is what he will reap in the future. If we feed our child with love and honesty, he will grow up emanating these values within him. Once we were children. And we know when the things we wanted to know are not answered. If we have been there, we will surely give the best knowledge and love to our children so that they no longer ask for these things because they already knew.
