Looking for the perfect gift for your child’s teacher? Tired of the same old cup of chocolate or coffee? Wishing it was actually something you know the teacher would want, well, here you go: 10 Gifts Teachers Will Really Like!

1. Gift cards: the perfect gift for any teacher. Pick one up at your local coffee shop, ice cream parlor, grocery store, or craft store. Depending on your budget, you can go as high or as low as you feel comfortable.

2. Cards made by your children. Don’t overlook the value of a homemade card. Give it some thought, maybe print a picture of the beauty of it, add a poem and have your child sign or draw on it. Sure he will melt the hearts of him.

3. Baked goods. Whip up some homemade mini banana bread or pumpkin bread and wrap it with fun colored cling wrap.

4. Bring them lunch. Prepare delicious summer salads for them to enjoy. Or make a soup they can freeze and save for a quick lunch or dinner on the run.

5. Low maintenance seedlings. Bring a little green into your classroom with a small houseplant that’s easy to care for and easy to bring home during the summer or school vacation weeks.

6. For the teachers: some fun jewelry. Maybe some cool earrings or a bracelet, kid-friendly of course.

7. A donation in your name. If they’re a fan of the environment, adopt a tree or a whale, if they’re a dog or cat lover, donate to the local SPCA in their name. There are many good causes to support – choose the one that best suits your child’s teacher.

8. A gift basket. Fill it with whatever you think they’ll like, maybe some fresh fruit and jam from the local farmer’s market for the summer, or during the holidays, some chocolates, warm socks and mittens. Try to stick to one theme so everything doesn’t seem random.

9. Homemade thank you notes. Buy some inexpensive blank cards at a craft store and have your child decorate them with fun pictures. Write a line inside or outside the cover – Thank you. Teachers will now have thank you notes to send to all the other parents who gave them gifts!

10. A memory book. Fill in a small journal with her son’s memories of his time with the teacher. Add some pictures and quotes and of course your child’s artwork. It is the gift that every teacher will remember for a long time.
