Eight Ways to Quickly Center and Balance Your Energy

1. Left Nostril Breathing – This may sound a bit strange, but it is a Kundalini Yoga practice that you can literally do anytime, anywhere and get great results. With your right palm facing left, place your thumb in your right nostril so that you can only inhale and exhale through your left nostril. Keeping your mouth closed, inhale and exhale deeply through your left nostril 20 times. You will feel the calming effects after just 1 inhalation and exhalation!

2. Practice TruAwareness: TruAwareness is a unique process that gives you insight and clarity, as well as emotional release. Use it the next time you feel stressed or overwhelmed or just need information or clarity.

3. Get out into nature: Nature offers natural healing and centering benefits. However, you have to be in the wild to harvest them. So, when the weather and location allow, head to a grassy area and remove your shoes and socks to stand barefoot on the grass. (Sitting or lying on a towel is fine.) Sit on the grassy area for at least 15 minutes (although preferably longer) so that you can physically connect with Mother Earth. She has a unique way of cleansing and detoxifying stress from your mind and body. If you have access to a natural outdoor water source, such as a lake, stream, or ocean, it is also helpful to sit on the ground next to the water source. Also, the next time you go for a walk or run, skip the gym and find a way outside. You will see that your creativity has improved enormously.

4. Power Breath: Inhale deeply for a count of 5, then hold your breath for a count of 15. Exhale the same breath for a count of 10. You will feel a balancing and energizing effect.

5. Acupressure Points: This is a move from my All You’ve Ever Known DVD. There are 2 acupressure points about a hand width below the clavicle or clavicle bone. They are in the middle of each side, or halfway between the side of your body and the middle of your body. When you start to press, you will notice that they have sensitivity towards them. Rub them in any direction for 10 -15 seconds and you will notice a feeling of cleanliness and balance.

6. More Acupressure Points: This is another move from my All You’ve Ever Known DVD. On the outside of each hand, there is another acupressure point halfway between the first knuckle of the little finger and the wrist bone. Keep one hand vertical and the other hand palm up as you bring your hands together at those acupressure points. Again, you will notice a feeling of cleanliness and balance.

7. Neck Twists: Neck twists are an instinctive move for headache sufferers and there’s a good reason for it. Neck twists increase circulation and blood flow to the brain, which, by the way, releases stress and also increases creativity. Rotate the neck, starting with the chin on the chest and turning to the right with the ear towards the shoulder, then the head towards the back, then the left ear towards the left shoulder and back towards the chin on the chest. If this is not possible, get as close to this level of flexibility as possible. If your neck or shoulder movements are restricted due to pain or injury, do only what you can, even if it means drawing circles in the air with your nose. Turn your head 10 times to the right and then 10 times in the opposite direction.

8. Entertain positive results: Take a few minutes to visually and emotionally entertain the positive results of each possible scenario in your life. Literally every one. From your ideal weight or figure to your finances, health and love life, spend precious moments envisioning the best possible results. In addition to focusing your energy, you will also connect to higher levels of creativity.
