When the Angels sign Manny, Dodgers fans will see red and wear it too!

The Manny Raffle has begun, now that the Dodgers have overcome it all in the playoffs against the Phillies.

The big question isn’t whether Frank McCourt will rehire Dr. Dreadlocks.

He won’t.

As some have suggested, McCourt will “court” Manny, but either won’t court him with enough money, or the length of the contract will be four years instead of the desired five or six.

But something, anything remotely justifiable will stand in the way of Number 99 returning to Chavez Ravine. Mere whispering about wasted money and continued financial payout for last year’s no-show Andruw Jones will probably do the trick.

Which team will win over Manny?

The Yankees always have deep pockets, and the Bronx could be a great launch pad for Manny’s prolific hits, especially against former hometown Red Sox.

But New York is not Los Angeles. Manny just won’t be adored there, not even in a new house HE might build.

LA loves Manny, and that’s why the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim will throw the perfect pitch for him.

Manny could become the owner of both Mannywood and Mannyland. He could steal second without taking his foot off first.

And many of the True Blue fans will suddenly see red and wear it too.

They are captained by Dodgers winner Mike Scoscia.

Angels owner Arte Moreno will make Manny’s investment because it’s good business, great PR and definitely proclaims, “We’re number one in Los Angeles!”

Furthermore, it would justify any dismissal of the players that Mr. Moreno feels he should say to Vladimir Guerrero, Francisco Rodríguez and others.

Don’t worry about Manny leaving Los Angeles.

You just started putting your name on the map!
