Awareness Examples For Students

When you enter a classroom or a workplace, there is no doubt that you will encounter a number of self-awareness activities. This might include, but is not limited to, asking questions and asking for answers, looking around and thinking about things, making eye contact with other people, asking or observing others, and so forth. The list of self-awareness activities is endless. However, most of these activities are guided by the common notion that we should be self-aware in order to be successful and thrive in life. This is where the importance of self-awareness comes in.

As mentioned at the outset of the article, the importance of self-awareness can be seen in all the different self-awareness activities that students can engage in. Students need to learn about their minds as well as how they work, and this is best done through a self-awareness test. Free self-awareness tests are available online for students to take. They come in various forms, ranging from a simple sight test which asks students to look at a picture on the screen and then write the name of the object in the appropriate box on the screen, to a more challenging multi-choice exam. Another form of free self-awareness test is that of the Free Viewing Test. This involves students watching a video and having to answer questionnaires regarding their knowledge of visual information.

The Free Viewing Test, like many other self awareness exercises, is intended to get students to think about how they see the information that they are looking at. In essence, it asks students to look at their mental images of what the information on the screen looks like. Students can also answer questions about what they notice about certain aspects of the images and videos. These questions show up on the screen in a random fashion and students are given a pre-determined amount of time to look at any particular portion of the information.

A more detailed form of self-awareness exercise comes in the form of the Self-Reflection Questionnaire. Here, students are shown a series of still photos, and are asked to rate each one on a scale of one to ten. Afterward, the student is shown a list of words related to each image, and is asked to rate the relevance of those words to the images that they have seen. Afterward, the student is shown a still photo and asked to rate the same word again. This is a self-awareness example for students because this list of words is constructed using common verbal and non-verbal cues that most people use on a daily basis.

A self-awareness example for students would be to take a group of students that are all reading a book. As the class discussion goes on, each student tries to better understand the content of his or her book by asking fellow students questions pertaining to the written word. Afterward, the teacher will display a list of the most commonly used words by the group. The teacher will then ask these students to point out any similarities between the written word and an image that they have seen in the text. Once the students have displayed a clear understanding of the meaning behind the text, they can determine which image contains what they think the written word implies.

One good way to motivate self-awareness among students is to provide self-awareness examples throughout the class curriculum. For instance, you could start out with “I am not the only one who does not know where my body stands.” In this example, it is important to mention that there will be several other students who will not understand what your point is. However, when you begin talking about your own self-awareness later on, you can remind the class that not all of us understand our own self-awareness, and that by providing examples of others who do, we can all hopefully learn to increase our own self-awareness. There are many self-awareness examples for students, and through learning, practice, and patience, you can become an excellent speaker.
