WHO did the world

That What kind of animals did God make?

When God made the world?

Where are the stars and the moon?

because Did God make the moon shine at night?

As God made light

You guessed it! The 5 “W” questions plus “How”. They’ve been around a lot longer than Lois Lane and she’s probably been asking questions like these in her Sunday school classroom without even knowing it. So how would she like to have a little fun with them without getting a low groan from her son the next time she wants to do a Bible review? So let her try this activity and see how smart her children can get.

All 5 “W” question cards plus “How”

Simply prepare a set of 3 x 5 cards that have each of the following words on each card: Who, What, When, Where, Why, and How. On the back of the cards, place point values of 100, 200, 300, 400, 500, and 600. Next, you should have some questions ready for your class that match your Bible theme. All the questions at the top of this article have to do with Creation. Just take some time and read the scriptures based on your topic and prepare similar questions. You are now ready to do a review.

Divide your class into 2 teams. You, the teacher, will be at the front of the class holding the cards in your hand, word side out. Ask a child from the first team to choose a card. If he chooses a “what” card, then you will ask him the “what” question that you have already prepared. If he answers correctly, show him the point value on the back and announce that this is the number of points his team just earned. Pick a new kid from the next team and play again. The team with the most points at the end of the game wins!

Here are a couple of fun suggestions:

1. Make up more than just the 6 cards. You can have duplicates to accommodate the number of prepared questions you have.

2. Consider letting an owl puppet ask the questions, as it often asks “Who?” anyway. Your little ones would especially enjoy this!

Have fun!
