Happy Mother’s Day

With Mother’s Day just a few days away, the thoughts of moms and even grandmothers are on everyone’s minds.

I am the mother of 4 wonderful children, who is also blessed with 3 beautiful grandchildren.

Life with my own children has had its ups and downs, but my family means everything to me. Each of my children is different but special and unique in their own way. I love you all.

However, now being a grandmother of three has brought a new light to life. A new meaning to the day called, Mother’s Day. Like a grandmother, each grandchild, with their special and wonderful personalities, brings extraordinary charm and warmth to our home. Toys that have been put away for a long time are now scattered around the house, coloring books and crayons are visible on the shelf, baby quilts once again to be sewn, and those nursery rhymes reverberate in my head once more.

But because I am the mother and the grandmother, now more than ever on this Mother’s Day I am reminded that I am also a daughter. My mother passed away a month ago, at the age of 91. Being able to hug her, tell her I love her, and say, “Happy Mother’s Day,” one more time, will never happen.

For those of you who are your mother’s caregivers, cherish every moment, hug her and tell her you love her. Our mothers have taken care of us; now is our time to give back to those around us. Not only to our own children, but also to those in need, those who don’t have families to care for them and need support, and others who just need a hug or a kind word.

For those of you who only have memories of your mothers, think about those moments that make you smile, share the stories of the good times with her so that your children and others will never forget her, and be proud of yourselves, like her always was. of you.

Whether you’re a young mom or young at heart this Mother’s Day, the true meaning of Mother’s Day is a day to reflect on how lucky you are to have a family and be part of a family. It is the mother who makes and keeps the family together.

Happy Mother’s Day from this mother and grandmother. Remember that it is not always what we tell our children and grandchildren that they will remember, but the quality moments we spend with them.
