Grand Theft Auto – Liberty City Episodes Game Preview

Grand Theft Auto: Episodes from Liberty City is a unique concept in the world of video games because they are two independent episodes that do not require the original GTA IV to work. Therefore, people who do not have GTA IV can purchase these new mini video games and play them at full capacity. This new game is available on XBox Live on October 29 and is definitely worth checking out as it offers two new missions in typical GTA style.

The new episode found on this disc is called The Ballad of Gay Tony. In this episode, you will play as a bodyguard named Luis Lopez. Lopez is also a business partner of Gay Tony, who is constantly looking out for the main character’s interests. Tony owns two of the best nightclubs in Liberty City, but he’s been getting into trouble recently with shady people and he needs your help to set things right. If you’ve played GTA IV, you’ll recognize some of the happenings in the city as Lopez’s story unfolds, as these video games don’t overlap one bit. As Lopez, you’ll be forced to deal with the problems of the upper class, as he doesn’t deal with street lords like many other GTA characters do.

An example of this comes from a mission where Luis Lopez has to lean on the owner of the Liberty City professional hockey team, as a Russian crime lord named Bulgarin wants to buy the team and the owner refuses to sell. As with everything else in high society, everyone has a price, so it’s up to Luis López to find that price so that people get what he wants. If they don’t sell, as is the case with the hockey team owner, Lopez is forced to kill them, as is customary in GTA video games.

Some of the new features in this episode include more helicopters and other stunts, as the high-profile nature of these deals ensures that Lopez is constantly pulling off daredevil stunts. There are also a number of new weapons included with these games as Lopez has more of a budget than GTA characters in the past. Other unique features, like planted electrical charges, allow Lopez to take care of people remotely, so he doesn’t even have to be in the area to get back at someone. An example of this occurs when some police officers get too close to López and Bulgarin. In this scene, the two of you and another gangster hide while some cops are blown up while searching Bulgarin’s car. As usual in these video games, the police swarm the area and force you to escape and hide. This scene alone makes these games worth buying because it is exclusive to Grand Theft Auto: Episodes of Liberty City.

If you feel like you are ready to get involved in white collar crime, then this game is definitely something you should play. You will be facing some high level thieves in these video games, who have the resources to make you disappear very quickly. Lopez even gets a chance to practice running the nightclubs through a series of mini-games, making Grand Theft Auto: Episodes of Liberty City well worth watching.

The other episode that is included with this game is The Lost and the Damned which is part of the original GTA IV game. In this episode, you’ll play Johnny, a reformed member of a biker gang who finds himself in the middle of a turf war. Johnny deals with the lower end of criminals, which is very different from the Luis Lopez story. The good news is that since he will get both of these video games on one disc, he can experience all levels of crime through these games. This two-disc set will be available in stores or via Xbox Live on October 29th and all GTA lovers will definitely love these video games because they perfectly add to the legacy that GTA has left in the past.
