It’s no secret that Broadbased Communications has become one of the most sought-after ISPs in Africa. The company’s network spans over 3,500km, and is designed to self-heal through redundant routes. It connects the company’s network to over 20 PoPs (Points of Presence) across the country, including submarine cable landing stations, data centres, and major corporate clients in Lagos and Abuja. The company also utilizes the Glo-1 submarine cable, which stretches across the west coast of Africa.

Dolphin Telecom and Broadbased Communications are partnering to provide wholesale internet access across the major districts in Lagos. The two companies have a total network span of 3,500 km, and the latter uses a horizontal directional drilling (HDD) machine to install fiber optic cables. In addition, Broadbased uses redundant routes to reach over 20 points of presence (PoPs) in different parts of the country. Its network is designed to ensure reliable and fast internet service for all its clients, which includes major telcos/ISP hubs, corporate customers, and government offices.

Under the deal, Broadbased will provide last mile metro fibre connectivity to Dolphin’s clients, including Nigerian ISPs and Telecom Operators. The two companies are members of the African Coast to Europe submarine cable system consortium. Dolphin Telecoms operates the Nigerian landing station of the ACE submarine cable system. Broadbased will provide the last mile fibre connectivity to Dolphin Telecoms’ clients. The ACE submarine cable system is being upgraded to 100G technology, increasing its design capacity from 5.12 Tbps to 12.8 Tbps.

Broadbased Communications Partners With Dolphin Telecom in Nigeria

Broadbased Communications, an open access metro fibre network operator, has announced a partnership with Dolphin Telecoms, a member of the African Coast to Europe Submarine Cable System consortium. Through the partnership, Broadbased will provide wholesale last-mile metro fibre connectivity to Dolphin’s clients, including telecom operators and Internet service providers in Nigeria. The new partnership will also provide both companies with access to a growing market.

With the MoU, Broadbased will continue providing fibre optic network connectivity to various entities, including Nigeria’s Submarine Cable Landing Stations, Data Centers, Nigeria’s Internet Exchange Point, banks, stock exchange, and major corporate firms. Broadbased executives cited the MOU as an example of its open access, non-competitive network architecture. The two companies will also share network resources in the future, and expect the partnership to be a fruitful one.

In a new partnership, Open Access Metropolitan Fiber Optic Network operator Broadbased Communications Limited has teamed up with Dolphin Telecom Ltd, an operator of the ACE (African Coast to Europe) submarine cable system landing station in Nigeria. The companies plan to offer last-mile fibre connectivity to Dolphin Telecom Ltd’s clients, including telecom operators and ISPs in Nigeria. The deal is expected to boost the performance of ACE and Dolphin Telecoms’ network.
