Xbox 360 E71 Error Repair Tips
One of the errors that you may experience on your Xbox console is the Xbox 360 error e71. Very often this problem can be accompanied by a ring of red lights on the front of the console. In this article, you’ll learn what causes the Xbox code e71, as well as if there’s anything you can do to fix the problem.
Unlike the more common “red ring of death” and e74 issues, the Xbox 360 error e71 is not due to overheating damaging the graphics processing unit (GPU) or video scaling chip (HANA/ ANA). The problem, however, is that no one is 100% sure what actually causes e71 in the first place.
The issue is most likely related to dashboard and console updates such as the Fall 2006 update. Also, the issue seems to stem from players incorrectly updating their hardware or making failed firmware mods that then prevent it from playing. the system works properly.
Did you recently update your Xbox 360 in any way, or did you (or someone else) try some sort of hack or firmware flash? If so, this is probably the cause of the code e71 on your Xbox, however it could also be completely random.
Fixing the Xbox e71 is quite complicated. First, you can try hard resetting your Xbox 360. To do this, go to the dashboard, go to the far right column, go and press “Initial setup” and then follow the instructions on the screen.
If you can’t get to this screen due to error e71 on your Xbox 360, you can try holding down the “Y” button on your controller while turning on the console. This will enter the same process and restore factory default settings. However, there is still a chance that this will not work and you will be left stranded with code e71.
